How To Install libdfp on Fedora 34

libdfp is Decimal Floating Point C Library

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install libdfp on Fedora 34.

What is libdfp

The “Decimal Floating Point C Library” is an implementation of ISO/IEC Technical report “ISO/IEC TR 24732” which describes the C-Language library routines necessary to provide the C library runtime support for decimal floating point data types introduced in IEEE 754-2008, namely _Decimal32, _Decimal64, and _Decimal128.

We can use yum or dnf to install libdfp on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libdfp.

Install libdfp on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install libdfp using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install libdfp

Install libdfp on Fedora 34 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

How To Uninstall libdfp on Fedora 34

To uninstall only the libdfp package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove libdfp
