In this tutorial we learn how to install kvantum on Fedora 34.

What is kvantum

Kvantum is an SVG-based theme engine for Qt5, KDE and LXQt, with an emphasis on elegance, usability and practicality. Kvantum has a default dark theme, which is inspired by the default theme of Enlightenment. Creation of realistic themes like that for KDE was the first reason to make Kvantum but it goes far beyond its default theme make themes with very different looks and feels for it, whether they be photorealistic or cartoonish, 3D or flat, embellished or minimalistic, or something in between, and Kvantum will let you control almost every aspect of Qt widgets. We can use yum or dnf to install kvantum on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install kvantum.

Install kvantum on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install kvantum using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install kvantum

Install kvantum on Fedora 34 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

How To Uninstall kvantum on Fedora 34

To uninstall only the kvantum package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove kvantum
