In this tutorial we learn how to install inews on Fedora 34.

What is inews

The inews program is used by some news programs (for example, inn and trn) to post Usenet news articles to local news servers. Inews reads an article from a file or standard input, adds headers, performs some consistency checks and then sends the article to the local news server specified in the inn.conf file. Install inews if you need a program for posting Usenet articles to local news servers.

We can use yum or dnf to install inews on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install inews.

Install inews on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install inews using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install inews

How To Uninstall inews on Fedora 34

To uninstall only the inews package we can use the following command:
