What is id3v2

id3v2 is a command line tool to add, modify, remove, or view ID3v2 tags, as well as convert or list ID3v1 tags. ID3 tags are commonly embedded in compressed music files and are the standard way to more fully describe the work than would normally be allowed by putting the information in the filename.

We can use yum or dnf to install id3v2 on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install id3v2.

Install id3v2 on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install id3v2 using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install id3v2

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

How To Uninstall id3v2 on Fedora 34

To uninstall only the id3v2 package we can use the following command:
