icoutils is Utility for extracting and converting Microsoft icon and cursor files

In this tutorial we learn how to install icoutils on Fedora 34.

What is icoutils

The icoutils are a set of programs for extracting and converting images in Microsoft Windows icon and cursor files. These files usually have the extension .ico or .cur, but they can also be embedded in executables or libraries.

We can use yum or dnf to install icoutils on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install icoutils.

Install icoutils on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install icoutils using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install icoutils

How To Uninstall icoutils on Fedora 34

To uninstall only the icoutils package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove icoutils
