How To Install grpc on Fedora 34

grpc is RPC library and framework RPC library and framework

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install grpc on Fedora 34.

What is grpc

gRPC is a modern open source high performance RPC framework that can run in any environment. It can efficiently connect services in and across data centers with pluggable support for load balancing, tracing, health checking and authentication. It is also applicable in last mile of distributed computing to connect devices, mobile applications and browsers to backend services. The main usage scenarios • Efficiently connecting polyglot services in microservices style architecture • Connecting mobile devices, browser clients to backend services • Generating efficient client libraries Core Features that make it awesome • Idiomatic client libraries in 10 languages • Highly efficient on wire and with a simple service definition framework • Bi-directional streaming with http/2 based transport • Pluggable auth, tracing, load balancing and health checking This package provides the shared C core library. grpc 1.26.0 13.fc34 x86_64 1.1 M grpc-1.26.0-13.fc34.src.rpm fedora RPC library and framework https ASL 2.0 and BSD gRPC is a modern open source high performance RPC framework that can run in any environment. Install grpc on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

Fedora 34 - x86_64 20 kB/s | 6.6 kB 00:00
Fedora 34 openh264 (From Cisco) - x86_64 1.4 kB/s | 989 B 00:00

Fedora Modular 34 - x86_64 - Updates 17 kB/s | 5.9 kB 00:00
Metadata cache created.

After updating yum database, We can install grpc using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install grpc
