In this tutorial we learn how to install gpicview on Fedora 34.

What is gpicview

Gpicview is an simple and image viewer with a simple and intuitive interface. It’s extremely lightweight and fast with low memory usage. This makes it very suitable as default image viewer of desktop system. Although it is developed as the primary image viewer of LXDE, the Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment, it only requires GTK+ and can be used in any desktop environment.

We can use yum or dnf to install gpicview on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install gpicview.

Install gpicview on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install gpicview using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install gpicview

Install gpicview on Fedora 34 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

How To Uninstall gpicview on Fedora 34

To uninstall only the gpicview package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove gpicview
