How To Install gap on Fedora 34
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install gap
on Fedora 34.
What is gap
GAP is a system for computational discrete algebra, with particular emphasis on Computational Group Theory. GAP provides a programming language, a library of thousands of functions implementing algebraic algorithms written in the GAP language as well as large data libraries of algebraic objects. GAP is used in research and teaching for studying groups and their representations, rings, vector spaces, algebras, combinatorial structures, and more. This package contains the command line application. gap 4.11.1 1.fc34 x86_64 783 k gap-4.11.1-1.fc34.src.rpm fedora Computational discrete algebra https GPLv2+ GAP is a system for computational discrete algebra, with particular emphasis on Computational Group Theory. to install gap
on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install gap.
Install gap on Fedora 34 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:
Fedora 34 - x86_64 20 kB/s | 6.6 kB 00:00
Fedora 34 openh264 (From Cisco) - x86_64 1.4 kB/s | 989 B 00:00
