How To Install ftp on Fedora 34

The ftp package provides the standard UNIX command-line FTP (File Transfer Protocol) client. FTP is a widely used protocol for transferring files over the Internet and for archiving files. If your system is on a network, you should install ftp in order to do file transfers.

We can use yum or dnf to install ftp on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install ftp.

Install ftp on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install ftp using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install ftp

How To Uninstall ftp on Fedora 34

To uninstall only the ftp package we can use the following command:
