How To Install fig2ps on Fedora 34

fig2ps is Utility for converting xfig pictures to PS/PDF

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install fig2ps on Fedora 34.

What is fig2ps

fig2ps is a perl script which converts xfig files to postscript or PDF, using LaTeX for processing text (a capability not included in transfig). This provides the benefit of seamless integration of figures into documents (the font in the figures is the same as in the text), and allows for special typesetting commands (such as mathematical equations) to be included in figures.

We can use yum or dnf to install fig2ps on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install fig2ps.

Install fig2ps on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install fig2ps using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install fig2ps

Install fig2ps on Fedora 34 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

How To Uninstall fig2ps on Fedora 34

To uninstall only the fig2ps package we can use the following command:
