In this tutorial we learn how to install calamares on Fedora 34.

What is calamares

Calamares is a distribution-independent installer framework, designed to install from a live CD/DVD/USB environment to a hard disk. It includes a graphical installation program based on Qt 5. This package includes the Calamares framework and the required configuration files to produce a working replacement for Anaconda’s liveinst.

We can use yum or dnf to install calamares on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install calamares.

Install calamares on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install calamares using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install calamares

How To Uninstall calamares on Fedora 34
