What is lecm

lecm is:

Let’s Encrypt Certificates Manager (lecm) is an utility that allows one to manage (generate and renew) Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates.

lecm can be placed in a cron to automatically renew lecm’s managed certificates according to a threshold; during the renewal operations lecm is also able to restart the web server.

lecm take a yaml style configuration (default to /etc/lecm.conf), parameter can be declared for all managed certificates or individually.

There are three methods to install lecm on Debian 11. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install lecm Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install lecm using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install lecm

Install lecm Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install lecm using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install lecm

Install lecm Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
