In this tutorial we learn how to install gcompris on Debian 11.
What is gcompris
gcompris is:
GCompris is a high quality educational software suite, including a large number of activities for children aged 2 to 10. Some of the activities are game orientated, but nonetheless still educational.
This is a transitional package that depends on the new series of GCompris releases (rewritten using Qt). It can be safely removed once gcompris-qt is installed.
There are three methods to install gcompris on Debian 11. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install gcompris Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install gcompris using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install gcompris
