How To Install garagemq on Debian 11
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install garagemq
on Debian 11.
What is garagemq
garagemq is:
GarageMQ is a message broker that implement the Advanced Message Queuing Protocol (AMQP). Compatible with any AMQP or RabbitMQ clients (tested streadway/amqp and php-amqp lib)
The GarageMQ project is also knowns an KubeMQ (https://kubemq.io).
This package does not contain the admin-frontend/build files
since debian packaging npm modules is “complicated”. You can,
after installing this package, download the files from github and
cp -a $SRCDIR/admin-frontend/build /var/lib/garagemq/admin-frontend/
to be able to use the admin frontend as intended.
There are three methods to install garagemq
on Debian 11. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install garagemq Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install garagemq
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install garagemq

How To Uninstall garagemq on Debian 11
To uninstall only the garagemq
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove garagemq
Uninstall garagemq And Its Dependencies
To uninstall garagemq
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 11, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove garagemq
Remove garagemq Configurations and Data
To remove garagemq
configuration and data from Debian 11 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge garagemq
Remove garagemq configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
