How To Install marionnet on Debian 10

In this tutorial we learn how to install marionnet on Debian 10.
What is marionnet
marionnet is:
Marionnet is a virtual network laboratory: it allows users to define, configure and run complex computer networks without any need for physical setup. Only a single, possibly even non-networked GNU/Linux host machine is required to simulate a whole Ethernet network complete with computers, routers, hubs, switches, cables, and more. Support is also provided for integrating the virtual network with the physical host network.
As Marionnet is meant to be used also by inexperienced people, it features a very intuitive graphical user interface. Marionnet depends on User Mode Linux and VDE Virtual Distributed Ethernet for the simulation part.
There are three methods to install marionnet on Debian 10. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install marionnet Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install marionnet using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install marionnet
Install marionnet Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install marionnet using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install marionnet
Install marionnet Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install marionnet using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install marionnet
How To Uninstall marionnet on Debian 10
To uninstall only the marionnet package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove marionnet
Uninstall marionnet And Its Dependencies
To uninstall marionnet and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 10, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove marionnet
Remove marionnet Configurations and Data
To remove marionnet configuration and data from Debian 10 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge marionnet
Remove marionnet configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
