How To Install xz-libs on CentOS 8

In this tutorial we learn how to install xz-libs
on CentOS 8.
What is xz-libs
Libraries for decoding files compressed with LZMA or XZ utils. xz-libs 5.2.4 3.el8 i686 102 k xz-5.2.4-3.el8.src.rpm baseos Libraries for decoding LZMA compression http Public Domain Libraries for decoding files compressed with LZMA or XZ utils.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install xz-libs
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install xz-libs.
Install xz-libs on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install xz-libs
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install xz-libs
Install xz-libs on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.

How To Uninstall xz-libs on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the xz-libs
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove xz-libs
