How To Install xxhash-libs on CentOS 8

xxhash-libs is Extremely fast hash algorithm - library

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install xxhash-libs on CentOS 8.

What is xxhash-libs

xxHash is an Extremely fast Hash algorithm, running at RAM speed limits. It successfully completes the SMHasher test suite which evaluates collision, dispersion and randomness qualities of hash functions. Code is highly portable, and hashes are identical on all platforms (little / big endian).

We can use yum or dnf to install xxhash-libs on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install xxhash-libs.

Install xxhash-libs on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh
