How To Install xrootd-scitokens on CentOS 8

xrootd-scitokens is SciTokens authorization support for XRootD

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install xrootd-scitokens on CentOS 8.

What is xrootd-scitokens

This ACC (authorization) plugin for the XRootD framework utilizes the SciTokens library to validate and extract authorization claims from a SciToken passed during a transfer. Configured appropriately, this allows the XRootD server admin to delegate authorization decisions for a subset of the namespace to an external issuer.

We can use yum or dnf to install xrootd-scitokens on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install xrootd-scitokens.
