How To Install xrdcl-http on CentOS 8

xrdcl-http is HTTP client plugin for XRootD

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install xrdcl-http on CentOS 8.

What is xrdcl-http

xrdcl-http is an XRootD client plugin which allows XRootD to interact with HTTP repositories.

We can use yum or dnf to install xrdcl-http on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install xrdcl-http.

Install xrdcl-http on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install xrdcl-http using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install xrdcl-http

Install xrdcl-http on CentOS 8 Using yum

How To Uninstall xrdcl-http on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the xrdcl-http package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove xrdcl-http
