How To Install xfce4-panel on CentOS 8

xfce4-panel is Next generation panel for Xfce

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install xfce4-panel on CentOS 8.

What is `xfce4-panel`

This package includes the panel for the Xfce desktop environment.

We can use yum or dnf to install xfce4-panel on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install xfce4-panel.

Install xfce4-panel on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install xfce4-panel using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install xfce4-panel

How To Uninstall xfce4-panel on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the xfce4-panel package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove xfce4-panel
