How To Install wxBase3 on CentOS 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install wxBase3
on CentOS 8.
What is wxBase3
Every wxWidgets application must link against this library. It contains mandatory classes that any wxWidgets code depends on (like wxString) and portability classes that abstract differences between platforms. wxBase can be used to develop console mode applications – it does not require any GUI libraries or the X Window System.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install wxBase3
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install wxBase3.
Install wxBase3 on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install wxBase3
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install wxBase3
Install wxBase3 on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh

using yum

sudo yum -y install wxBase3
How To Uninstall wxBase3 on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the wxBase3
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove wxBase3
