How To Install wayland-protocols-devel on CentOS 8

In this tutorial we learn how to install wayland-protocols-devel
on CentOS 8.
What is wayland-protocols-devel
wayland-protocols contains Wayland protocols that adds functionality not available in the Wayland core protocol. Such protocols either adds completely new functionality, or extends the functionality of some other protocol either in Wayland core, or some other protocol in wayland-protocols.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install wayland-protocols-devel
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install wayland-protocols-devel.
Install wayland-protocols-devel on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:
