In this tutorial we learn how to install vmaf on CentOS 8.
What is vmaf
VMAF is a perceptual video quality assessment algorithm developed by Netflix. VMAF Development Kit (VDK) is a software package that contains the VMAF algorithm implementation, as well as a set of tools that allows a user to train and test a custom VMAF model. We can use yum or dnf to install vmaf on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install vmaf.
Install vmaf on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:
