In this tutorial we learn how to install tio on CentOS 8.

What is `tio`

Tio is a simple TTY terminal application which features a straightforward commandline interface to easily connect to TTY devices for basic input/output.

We can use yum or dnf to install tio on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install tio.

Install tio on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install tio using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install tio

How To Uninstall tio on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the tio package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove tio
