How To Install texlive-filecontents on CentOS 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install texlive-filecontents
on CentOS 8.
What is texlive-filecontents
LaTeX2e’s filecontents and filecontents* environments enable a LaTeX source file to generate external files as it runs through LaTeX. However, there are two limitations of these environments can only be used in the preamble of a document. The filecontents package removes these limitations, letting you overwrite existing files and letting you use filecontents/filecontents* anywhere.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install texlive-filecontents
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install texlive-filecontents.
Install texlive-filecontents on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install texlive-filecontents
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install texlive-filecontents
Install texlive-filecontents on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.

How To Uninstall texlive-filecontents on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the texlive-filecontents
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove texlive-filecontents
