What is systemtap-initscript

This package includes a SysVinit script to launch selected systemtap scripts at system startup, along with a dracut module for early boot-time probing if supported.

We can use yum or dnf to install systemtap-initscript on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install systemtap-initscript.

Install systemtap-initscript on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

How To Uninstall systemtap-initscript on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the systemtap-initscript package we can use the following command:
