How To Install systemd-pam on CentOS 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install systemd-pam
on CentOS 8.
What is systemd-pam
Systemd PAM module registers the session with systemd-logind. systemd-pam 239 45.el8_4.2 x86_64 469 k systemd-239-45.el8_4.2.src.rpm baseos systemd PAM module http LGPLv2+ and MIT and GPLv2+ Systemd PAM module registers the session with systemd-logind.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install systemd-pam
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install systemd-pam.
Install systemd-pam on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install systemd-pam
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install systemd-pam
Install systemd-pam on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh

using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install systemd-pam
How To Uninstall systemd-pam on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the systemd-pam
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove systemd-pam
