What is svt-av1-devel

The Scalable Video Technology for AV1 Encoder (SVT-AV1 Encoder) is an AV1-compliant encoder library core. The SVT-AV1 development is a work-in-progress targeting performance levels applicable to both VOD and Live encoding / transcoding video applications.. This package contains the development files for SVT-AV1.

We can use yum or dnf to install svt-av1-devel on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install svt-av1-devel.

Install svt-av1-devel on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh
