How To Install stalld on CentOS 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install stalld
on CentOS 8.
What is stalld
The stalld program monitors the set of system threads, looking for threads that are ready-to-run but have not been given processor time for some threshold period. When a starving thread is found, it is given a temporary boost using the SCHED_DEADLINE policy. The default is to allow 10 microseconds of runtime for 1 second of clock time.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install stalld
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install stalld.
Install stalld on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install stalld
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install stalld
Install stalld on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh

How To Uninstall stalld on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the stalld
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove stalld
