How To Install spamassassin-iXhash2 on CentOS 8

In this tutorial we learn how to install spamassassin-iXhash2
on CentOS 8.
What is spamassassin-iXhash2
iXhash2 is an unofficial improved version of the iXhash spam filter plugin for SpamAssassin, adding async DNS lookups for performance and removing unneeded features but fully compatible with the iXhash 1.5.5 (https MD5 checksums of fragments of the body of an e-mail and compares them to those of known spam using DNS queries to a RBL-like name server. So it works similar to the standard plugins that use the Pyzor, Razor and DCC software packages from within SpamAssassin.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install spamassassin-iXhash2
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install spamassassin-iXhash2.
Install spamassassin-iXhash2 on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:
