What is safekeep-common

SafeKeep is a client/server backup system which enhances the power of rdiff-backup with simple, centralized configuration. This is the common component of SafeKeep. It is shared in between the client/server components.

We can use yum or dnf to install safekeep-common on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install safekeep-common.

Install safekeep-common on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install safekeep-common using dnf by running the following command:

How To Uninstall safekeep-common on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the safekeep-common package we can use the following command:
