How To Install rrdtool-devel on CentOS 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install rrdtool-devel
on CentOS 8.
What is rrdtool-devel
RRD is the Acronym for Round Robin Database. RRD is a system to store and display time-series data (i.e. network bandwidth, machine-room temperature, server load average). This package allow you to use directly this library. rrdtool-devel 1.7.0 16.el8 x86_64 38 k rrdtool-1.7.0-16.el8.src.rpm powertools RRDtool libraries and header files http GPLv2+ with exceptions RRD is the Acronym for Round Robin Database. We can use yum
or dnf
to install rrdtool-devel
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install rrdtool-devel.
Install rrdtool-devel on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install rrdtool-devel
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install rrdtool-devel
Install rrdtool-devel on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.

How To Uninstall rrdtool-devel on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the rrdtool-devel
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove rrdtool-devel
