Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install rhsm-icons on CentOS 8.

What is rhsm-icons

This package contains the desktop icons for the graphical interfaces provided for management of Red Hat subscriptions. There are many such interfaces, subscription-manager-gui, subscription-manager-initial-setup-addon, and subscription-manager-cockpit-plugin primarily.

We can use yum or dnf to install rhsm-icons on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install rhsm-icons.

Install rhsm-icons on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install rhsm-icons using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install rhsm-icons

How To Uninstall rhsm-icons on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the rhsm-icons package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove rhsm-icons
