What is `redhat-menus`

This package contains the XML files that describe the menu layout for GNOME and KDE, and the .desktop files that define the names and icons of “subdirectories” in the menus.

We can use yum or dnf to install redhat-menus on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install redhat-menus.

Install redhat-menus on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh
