Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install recode on CentOS 8.

What is recode

The recode' converts files between character sets and usages. It recognizes or produces nearly 150 different character sets and is able to transliterate files between almost any pair. When exact transliteration are not possible, it may get rid of the offending characters or fall back on approximations. Install recode on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install recode using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install recode

How To Uninstall recode on CentOS 8
