How To Install realmd on CentOS 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install realmd
on CentOS 8.
What is realmd
realmd is a DBus system service which manages discovery and enrollment in realms and domains like Active Directory or IPA. The control center uses realmd as the back end to ‘join’ a domain simply and automatically configure things correctly.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install realmd
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install realmd.
Install realmd on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install realmd
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install realmd
Install realmd on CentOS 8 Using yum

How To Uninstall realmd on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the realmd
package we can use the following command:
