How To Install rb_libtorrent on CentOS 8

In this tutorial we learn how to install rb_libtorrent
on CentOS 8.
What is rb_libtorrent
rb_libtorrent is a C++ library that aims to be a good alternative to all the other BitTorrent implementations around. It is a library and not a full featured client, although it comes with a few working example clients. Its main goals are to be very efficient (in terms of CPU and memory usage) as well as being very easy to use both as a user and developer.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install rb_libtorrent
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install rb_libtorrent.
Install rb_libtorrent on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install rb_libtorrent
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install rb_libtorrent

How To Uninstall rb_libtorrent on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the rb_libtorrent
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove rb_libtorrent
