R-rlecuyer is R interface to RNG with multiple streams

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install R-rlecuyer on CentOS 8.

What is R-rlecuyer

Provides an interface to the C implementation of the random number generator with multiple independent streams developed by L’Ecuyer et al (2002). The main purpose of this package is to enable the use of this random number generator in parallel R applications.

We can use yum or dnf to install R-rlecuyer on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install R-rlecuyer.

Install R-rlecuyer on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install R-rlecuyer using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install R-rlecuyer

How To Uninstall R-rlecuyer on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the R-rlecuyer package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove R-rlecuyer
