How To Install qpdf on CentOS 8

In this tutorial we learn how to install qpdf on CentOS 8.

What is qpdf

QPDF is a command-line program that does structural, content-preserving transformations on PDF files. It could have been called something like pdf-to-pdf. It includes support for merging and splitting PDFs and to manipulate the list of pages in a PDF file. It is not a PDF viewer or a program capable of converting PDF into other formats.

We can use yum or dnf to install qpdf on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install qpdf.

Install qpdf on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install qpdf using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install qpdf

Install qpdf on CentOS 8 Using yum

How To Uninstall qpdf on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the qpdf package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove qpdf
