python3-iniparse is Python Module for Accessing and Modifying Configuration Data in INI files

In this tutorial we learn how to install python3-iniparse on CentOS 8.

What is python3-iniparse

iniparse is an INI parser for Python which is API compatible with the standard library’s ConfigParser, preserves structure of INI files (order of sections & options, indentation, comments, and blank lines are preserved when data is updated), and is more convenient to use.

We can use yum or dnf to install python3-iniparse on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install python3-iniparse.

Install python3-iniparse on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install python3-iniparse using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install python3-iniparse

How To Uninstall python3-iniparse on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the python3-iniparse package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove python3-iniparse
