How To Install pxz on CentOS 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install pxz
on CentOS 8.
What is pxz
Parallel XZ is a compression utility that takes advantage of running XZ compression simultaneously on different parts of an input file on multiple cores and processors. This significantly speeds up compression time.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install pxz
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install pxz.
Install pxz on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install pxz
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install pxz

How To Uninstall pxz on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the pxz
