How To Install pscan on CentOS 8

pscan is Limited problem scanner for C source files

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install pscan on CentOS 8.

What is pscan

PScan is a program which attempts to scan C source files for common function abuses, which often lead to buffer overflows.

We can use yum or dnf to install pscan on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install pscan.

Install pscan on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install pscan using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install pscan

Install pscan on CentOS 8 Using yum

After updating yum database, We can install pscan using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install pscan

How To Uninstall pscan on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the pscan package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove pscan
