In this tutorial we learn how to install poppler on CentOS 8.

What is `poppler`

poppler is a PDF rendering library. poppler 20.11.0 2.el8 x86_64 1.1 M poppler-20.11.0-2.el8.src.rpm appstream PDF rendering library http (GPLv2 or GPLv3) and GPLv2+ and LGPLv2+ and MIT poppler is a PDF rendering library.

We can use yum or dnf to install poppler on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install poppler.

Install poppler on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install poppler using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install poppler

How To Uninstall poppler on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the poppler package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove poppler
