How To Install perl-Getopt-Long on CentOS 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install perl-Getopt-Long
on CentOS 8.
What is perl-Getopt-Long
The Getopt GetOptions(). It parses the command line from @ARGV, recognizing and removing specified options and their possible values. It adheres to the POSIX syntax for command line options, with GNU extensions. In general, this means that options have long names instead of single letters, and are introduced with a double dash “–”. Support for bundling of command line options, as was the case with the more traditional single-letter approach, is provided but not enabled by default.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install perl-Getopt-Long
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install perl-Getopt-Long.
Install perl-Getopt-Long on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
