How To Install perl-encoding on CentOS 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install perl-encoding on CentOS 8.
What is perl-encoding
With the encoding pragma, you can write your Perl script in any encoding you like (so long as the Encode module supports it) and still enjoy Unicode support. However, this encoding module is deprecated under perl 5.18. It uses a mechanism provided by perl that is deprecated under 5.18 and higher, and may be removed in a future version. The easiest and the best alternative is to write your script in UTF-8.
We can use yum or dnf to install perl-encoding on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install perl-encoding.
Install perl-encoding on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install perl-encoding using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install perl-encoding
Install perl-encoding on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.

How To Uninstall perl-encoding on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the perl-encoding package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove perl-encoding
