In this tutorial we learn how to install perl-CPAN-Meta on CentOS 8.

What is `perl-CPAN-Meta`

Software distributions released to the CPAN include a META.json or, for older distributions, META.yml, which describes the distribution, its contents, and the requirements for building and installing the distribution. The data structure stored in the META.json file is described in CPAN

We can use yum or dnf to install perl-CPAN-Meta on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install perl-CPAN-Meta.

Install perl-CPAN-Meta on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

How To Uninstall perl-CPAN-Meta on CentOS 8
