How To Install packETH on CentOS 8

In this tutorial we learn how to install packETH
on CentOS 8.
What is packETH
packETH is a Linux GUI tool that is able to send any packet or sequence of packets on the Ethernet. It uses the RAW socket option, so it doesn’t care about ip, routing, etc. It is designed to have all the options available, with all the correct and incorrect values (incorrect means, that user can send wrong parameters like
We can use yum
or dnf
to install packETH
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install packETH.
Install packETH on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install packETH
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install packETH
Install packETH on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh

using yum

How To Uninstall packETH on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the packETH
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove packETH
