How To Install openvdb on CentOS 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install openvdb
on CentOS 8.
What is openvdb
OpenVDB is an Academy Award-winning open-source C++ library comprising a novel hierarchical data structure and a suite of tools for the efficient storage and manipulation of sparse volumetric data discretized on three-dimensional grids. It is developed and maintained by Academy Software Foundation for use in volumetric applications typically encountered in feature film production. This package contains some graphical tools.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install openvdb
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install openvdb.
Install openvdb on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install openvdb
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install openvdb
Install openvdb on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh

How To Uninstall openvdb on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the openvdb
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove openvdb

/usr/bin/vdb_print
/usr/lib/.build-id
/usr/lib/.build-id/ab
