How To Install openpgm on CentOS 8

openpgm is An implementation of the PGM reliable multicast protocol

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install openpgm on CentOS 8.

What is openpgm

OpenPGM is an open source implementation of the Pragmatic General Multicast (PGM) specification in RFC 3208.

We can use yum or dnf to install openpgm on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install openpgm.

Install openpgm on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install openpgm using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install openpgm

Install openpgm on CentOS 8 Using yum

After updating yum database, We can install openpgm using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install openpgm

How To Uninstall openpgm on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the openpgm package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove openpgm
