How To Install nrpe on CentOS 8

In this tutorial we learn how to install nrpe on CentOS 8.
What is nrpe
Nrpe is a system daemon that will execute various Nagios plugins locally on behalf of a remote (monitoring) host that uses the check_nrpe plugin. Various plugins that can be executed by the daemon are available at http This package provides the core agent.
We can use yum or dnf to install nrpe on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install nrpe.
Install nrpe on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install nrpe using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install nrpe
Install nrpe on CentOS 8 Using yum

How To Uninstall nrpe on CentOS 8
